The Worst Piece of Writing Ever

I should be studying right now. My eyes are heavier by the second but my head is running round in circles. In fact, I should be asleep because it is currently 11:48 pm (your girl needs her beauty sleep). But no. I'm writing. I'm writing because I feel like I've been away from my world for a little too long. Reality stings, and hear me out when I say that reality has been way too intense for my liking. Writing keeps me sane. It's moments like these that make me realize how much I actually love the art of words, how much I can't bear a world without it. Life has been. . . eventful, in the past three months. I never thought September would come by so quickly, but here I am. It pains me that I don't have much time for Wattpad. Less time for Wattpad means less time for honing my craft. Less time for my passion. Which means I'm too infested with school work. I don't know what to call my life right now. And maybe, in some awfully weird sort of

JinnNelson: An Interview

An interview with the champion of The Stellar Awards, JinnNelson 1. Why do you write? Writing is my response to living, to put it simply. It’s how I explore my own thoughts and ideas, and how I connect with other humans.  2. How long have you been writing? I’m not exactly sure how long I’ve been writing. I began very young, writing sloppy weird stories and journalings in grade school and beyond. I started writing my first complete book at 14, which was…many years ago. 3. Do you believe in Writer's Block? If so, how do you deal with this? I’ve gotten writer’s block many times. I find it’s usually due to fatigue, or occasionally a bad environment where I can’t relax or be alone enough to create, but most of the time it comes down to not planning ahead and figuring out the bones of a story before I begin. I’ve also learned there’s a difference between writer’s block and just plain fear of moving forward to the next book or chapter, or whatever it is I need to write

Traveler: Book Review

Traveler Review champion in the stellar awards 2018 Trapped in a cafe that travels to seven dimensions on an infinite loop, Jaz Contra serves coffee while trying to locate the mysterious white-haired man who put her there.    When a young shapechanger named Bracken--whose search for his missing aunt leads him to this very cafe--stows away in her basement, Jaz must help him survive until he can return to his own world. Through a series of bizarre encounters with talking tigers, polymorphs, alchemists, thieves and the occasional grim reaper, Bracken's efforts to locate his aunt create daily chaos, threatening Jaz's chances of ever escaping--not to mention the stability of seven universes. COVER 8/10 I loved the simplicity of your cover! Anything not too flashy is perfect even if I did find it a little plain. Your trailer is another notable part of the book because it definitely added a more vibrant picture in my head. Even if you didn't get a perfect ma

Dragon Born: Book Review

Image
Welcome to a world filled with demons and dragons. Where nothing is ever as it seems and trust is a fools luxury. Do you think our world is unconnected? Are you so naive to think that you are alone and that no one is watching? In this world, there is a darkness, a deep and unrelenting cruelty that can only be solved by those that choose to move beyond it. This is no paltry romance. This is not the story of betrothal or rebellious love. This is a story far more real and far more unforgiving. This is the story of people. Real people who will face the unthinkable, and endure the unforgivable. They will do it all to save people they do not know, for a cause and a war they do not fully understand. Too long has Scelestra, the queen of nightmares, been permitted to unleash her cruelty on this defenseless world. Nothing in this Tendaara is insignificant, nothing is unplanned, everything has a purpose that brings darkness or light. It has been 150 years since Eleanor died. 150 years

His Lucky Charm by Nikithasuz123: Book Review

Image
Devon Porter could never believe his unusually bad luck because wherever he went disasters always seemed to bite him in the ass.    What's the use of being blessed with such undeniably good looks when his luck seems to repel everyone away like a very strong bug spray.  After seventeen years of horrible incidents and a string of unfortunate crushes he finally decides he is doomed forever, that is until he meets his lucky charm.  Packed with humor and the perfect characters, His Lucky Charm was the best of all teen fiction entries this year. Not too cliché, and not too unusual. As I mentioned in my earlier reviews,  The Stellar Awards is a yearly competition that opens every May. Holding eleven genres and thirty slots, only three winners are selected. It goes by the following criteria; book cover & other graphics (ten points), plot (twenty points), characters (ten points), writing style (thirty points), and grammar, punctuation & tone (ten points).
